An SLFP special central committee meeting will be held this afternoon at the president’s official residence with President Maithripala Sirisena at the chair.
SLFP Youth Front Chairman former Deputy Minister Shantha Bandara told our news team that at this meeting discussion would be held in particular with regard to the party’s 65thanniversary and the upcoming local government election.
However SLFP General Secretary Minister Duminda Dissanayake told a media briefing he had had convened recently that a decision nobody ever thought would be taken with regard to SLFP MPs who participated in the joint opposition March.
The General Secretary said that taking part in the March contrary to party decision and hooting at party headquarters were wrong actions.
The SLFP General Secretary said at the media briefing that therefore the party Central Committee would meet and take appropriate decisions with regard to those persons.
