THREE DAYS after a woman and her minor daughter were reportedly gangraped in Bulandshahr, a 19-year-old private school teacher was allegedly dragged into a moving vehicle and gangraped by three men at a secluded place in Bareilly district’s industrial area on Tuesday morning.
The victim told the police that the accused also made video clippings of the incident and threatened to circulate these on social media if she lodged a complaint. According to the police, the woman was on her way to school, when three men, whose faces were covered with scarves, abducted her.
Bareilly Range DIG Ashutosh Kumar said the woman had taken a tempo around 7 am and got down on the Bareilly-Delhi National Highway-24 — about 3 km from the school. “She had walked about 1 km towards the school, when a car halted near her, and two men forcibly dragged her into the vehicle,” he said.
A third person was in the vehicle. The woman told the police that the men stopped the vehicle at a secluded place about 2 km away, where the trio raped her. “They detained her for over an hour and made videos of the act. They later dropped her at the same spot from they had picked her up,” said Kumar.
The woman returned home and told her mother about the incident. Her father, a private firm employee, later took her to the police station, from where she was sent for a medical examination. “We hope there are CCTV cameras installed in the industrial area. The footage would help us trace the criminals,” said the DIG.
