Cocaine Stock Recovered in Peliyagoda Came from Brazil via Portugal

Police Narcotics Bureau recovered the stock of cocaine when inspecting two suspicious containers parked in a private container terminal in Peliyagoda.
This is the largest stock of cocaine recovered by the Bureau in its raids carried out in Sri Lanka.
Police media division said that while this 274 kilogram stock of cocaine was recovered from one container, the second container is currently being inspected by the Narcotics Bureau officials.
While this stock of cocaine was found concealed in a stock of sugar imported to
Sri Lanka, the police STF was able to apprehend a similar stock of cocaine on an earlier occasion.
Police Narcotics Eradication Bureau said that the value of the cocaine stock recovered yesterday was more than 1500 million rupees.
