Tuesday, 19 July 2016 - 7:53

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday predicted that by next year, the Singapore-India, Indo - Lanka and the Sri Lanka - Singapore FTA will permit the Southern Sub region of South Asia and Singapore to enter into a tripartite arrangement for trade and investments.
He observed that such an arrangement will create a favourable and beneficial environment to all parties involved.
Premier Wickremesinghe was speaking at the Third South Asian Diaspora Convention held at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore.
The Prime Minister said Sri Lanka was now negotiating a Free Trade Agreement with Singapore, which already has a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with India.
