Lohan Ratwatte Quits Joint Opposition’s Shadow Cabinet


MP Lohan Ratwatte has decided to resign from his shadow cabinet portfolio of the Joint Opposition. 

Ratwatte who was appointed the Town Planning and Water Supply minister of the Joint Opposition’s Shadow Cabinet yesterday, told our news team today that he informed the Joint Opposition of his decision.

He further said that he rejected the position because he was appointed to the post without consultation.

The Joint Opposition announced its Shadow Cabinet yesterday.

Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa was designated Prime Minister under their shadow cabinet. 

In addition, he was also given the portfolios of Buddhasasana, religious affairs and Defence.
