Island wide beauty parlours subjected to sudden inspections

The Director General of Health Services Dr. Palitha Maheepala has issued a circular yesterday, requesting the provincial and divisional health service directors to conduct sudden raids in beauty parlous island wide.
The ministry of health said that the circular further informs the officials to provide them with a report on the quality of the equipment and cosmetics used at those parlours.
The ministry of health said that this circular was issued after paying close attention to the recent incident where a lady doctor died at a beauty parlour.
Therefore a special unit is to be deployed to carry out sudden raids in beauty parlours.
Meanwhile, Colombo Crimes Division informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate that the female doctor who died at Bambalapitiya Beauty parlor was given an injection which has already expired.
When the case was taken up for hearing yesterday, the Crimes Division stated that they have recovered a stock of outdated injections.
