Pakistani refugees posing health threat – warn Sri Lankan officials


Health officials state that the large number of Pakistani refugees who are presently in the Negombo area, pose a  risk for the spread of Malaria in Sri Lanka.

There are over 1,500 such refugees in the Negombo area.

Chief Medical Health officer of the Negombo Municipal Council, Dr. N.K. Wijayalath stated that a special health programme is underway in view of this situation.
