Student injured in Dambulla bus accident allowed to write for scholarship exam at hospital

28 persons including a student sitting for the grade 5 scholarship examination were injured after an Army truck and a private bus collided at Inamaluwa Junction on the Badulla-Habarana Road today.
Meanwhile, Examinations Commissioner General has granted permission for the student who was injured in the accident to sit for the exam at the Dambulla hospital itself, after consulting with the Doctors.
Sigiriya Police stated that 3 Army soldiers were also injured.
The truck was traveling to Dambulla when it collided with a bus and heavy rain was reported in the area at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, A lorry transporting an elephant calf collided with a bus in the Molliogoda Central junction in Wadduwa this morning.
7 passengers of the bus were injured and the elephant calf had also suffered minor injuries.
It is understood that the driver of the bus had been on the phone at the time of the accident.
