
Samantha Power Impressed: US Pledges Support to Sri Lanka

The United States of America has noted that they are willing to extend their helping hand to Sri Lanka for a stable economic development, after an impressive development in democracy, internal affairs and external affairs by the new government within a short period of sixteen (16) months.
The remark was made by the United States Permanent Representative to the UN- Ambassador Samantha Power at the wrapping up of Sri Lanka’s trade and investment plan meeting in New York City.
Ambassador Power appreciated Sri Lanka’s moves in releasing political prisoners and resettling process of internally displaced people.
She further pledged that the US will back Sri Lankan initiatives leading to justice and harmony.
