Disclosure about government’s economic policies under Prime Minister
Tuesday, 12 April 2016 - 8:35
It has been decided that disclosures relating to the Government’s economic policies and decisions that have an international impact should be determined by the National Policies and Economic Affairs Ministry Cabinet sub-committee alone.
The said decisions are due to be taken by the National Policies and Economic Affairs Ministry Cabinet sub-committee that functions under Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe.
The Prime Minister has taken this decision as a result of various views expressed by several Government Ministers in the recent past about the methodologies followed with regard to the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to officially inform all ministers about the decision after the New Year holidays.
