No security from the army to VIPs

Three Assistant Superintendents of Police have been appointed for the security of Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office stated that they have been appointed based on service requirements.
Speaking at an event held at the Panagoda Army Camp State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardana said that the Government has decided not to deploy Army Personnel for VIP Security.
Meanwhile, Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi speaking at a recent Cabinet Decisions Press briefing said that the security provided to Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has not been reduced.
256 personnel have been deployed for the Former President’s security.
