Prime minister blames minister john for the removal of walking track

Prime Minister Ranili Wickremesinghe has cautioned Minister John Amaratunga with regard to the removal of the Kalu Ela walking tracks in Wattala.
This was revealed by Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake when he expressed his views to the media following the UNP Working Committee meeting.
However, following a ceremony held in Wattala area today, Minister Amaratunga was asked about the charges made against him.
Meanwhile, Evergreen Environmental and Welfare Association today lodged a complaint to the Human Rights Commission, against Minister Amaratunga, the Department of Police as well as the Low-lying Development Board.
The complaint was lodged in connection with the removal of the Wattala walking tracks.
The Chairman of the association B. I. Abdeen told the media that a proper investigation has not been conducted with regard to the matter.
The reconstruction work of the removed walking tracks in Wattala commenced today.
According to Sumith Ariyaratne - the owner of the private construction company in Panadura implementing the constructions, the reconstruction work has been handed over to his company by the Urban Development Authority.
