Showers or thundershowers will occur at most parts of the island, particularly after 2.00 pm, the Department of Meteorology said.
Showers will occur along the South Western coastal area in the morning too.
Fairly heavy falls (above 75mm) are also likely at some places.
“There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity,” the department warned.
On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th and 14th of April in this year. The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (06th), are Opanayaka, Kaluthara-North, Molamure and Mahawelatota about 12:13 noon.
