New conditions will be introduced to vehicles entering the Yala National Park, Director General of the Department of Wildlife Conservation Dr. Sumith Pilapitiya said.
He said the decision was made to protect the wild animals and for the convenience of tourists.
A considerable number of visitors are expected at the park during the upcoming school vacation.
The DG said that the conditions will be introduced following discussions with the union of Safari Jeep Drivers.
He added that these jeeps should be registered at the department by 10th this month. The conditions will be explained to the driver then, and those who violate the new set of rules will be taken into courts.
