Rs 125M Bribery: Two Custom Officers Bailed Out


The two custom officers seized by the Bribery Commission on 24th February in connection with the Rs 125 million bribery raids have been released on bail.

Each custom officer has been released on a 200,000 rupee cash bail and 5 million rupees surety along with a travel ban.

The suspects were arrested on charges of accepting a 125 million bribe from a foreign company exporting vehicle parts, for the release of a consignment of spare parts worth 1500 million to be used by the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
