Consideration of former Minister Basil Rajapaksa’s petition postponed to 8th July


The consideration of the fundamental rights petition filed by former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa has been postponed to 8th of July.

The former minister filed the petition in the Supreme Court requesting to prevent his arrest.

The petition was taken up for hearing today before a three-judge panel including Chief Justice K. Sripavan.

Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa filed a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court, after charges were filed against him pertaining to 5 matters in 4 Magistrate’s courts.
