Court orders to expedite investigations on Thajudeen’s murder case


The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peries informed the CID today that the investigation looking into the death of Ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen is required to be completed as soon as possible.

The senior state counsel appearing for the Attorney General’s Department told Court that the investigations to the incident would cost large sum of money and take a long period of time. 

He requested that the Court therefore grant that progress into the investigation be reported in two months.

In addition, the Sri Lanka Medical Council informed Court that the inquiry initiated against Dr. Ananda Samarasekera and his team has not yet been completed. 

A team of forensic experts led by Dr. Samarasekera conducted the first post mortem on the body of Thajudeen.
