Sri lanka is on a balanced economic development track


Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake says Sri Lanka has entered the correct path in its effort to achieve sustainable development goals. 

The policy planning submitted by the UN for its member countries in 2015 is precedent for the world development for the next 15 years. 

Addressing the 6th Asian Development Summit in Colombo this morning, minister Karunanayake said Sri Lanka has been offered an opportunity to review its journey since its beginning.

The minister further said achieving sustainable development goals is of paramount important to the nations in the Asian region and Sri Lanka expects to become a more competitive and open South Asian country.

The 6th Asian Development Summit was inaugurated in Colombo this morning under the patronage of the Finance Minister and Asian Development Bank Vice President Banbang Susantono. 

Asian credit institutions, embassy representatives and officials of the state institutions participated in the event. 

Asian Development Summit was introduced in 2010 following a proposal by Japan and South Korea.
