Port Authority Chairman Dhammika Ranathunga threatens the media

The Colombo High Court informed the Kaduwela Magistrate today that a decree be issued after considering the bail application filed by CEO of the CSN television station, Nishantha Ranatunga.
This notice was issued today when the re-application for bail by Nishantha Ranatunga was considered by Colombo High Court Judge M.C.B.S. Morayas.
The High Court Judge has stated the re-application for bail is accepted as it has no connection to Public Property Ordinance. ‘
The High Court Judge has ordered the Kaduwela Magistrate to issue a decree on Nishantha Ranatunga’s bail application accordingly.
Nishantha Ranatunga was arrested in connection with several charges including the abuse of state property to promote CSN television and the launch of the channel with undeclared financial assets.
The other four suspects including Yoshitha Rajapaksa have already been granted bail by the Colombo High Court.
Meanwhile its been reported that Nishantha Ranatunga’s brother and Port Authority Chairman Dhammika Ranatunga has threatened the media personnel who were covering the Case of Nishantha Ranatunga.
Our Court correspondent stated that the situation journalists complained the incident to Police Post at High Court and Keselwatta Police Station.
