Power cuts will end from tomorrow; says Subject Minister

Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that the power cuts experienced island wide will come to an end by tomorrow.
He said that the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant will be restored and that they will commence filling up water in the tanks.
The Minister said that from tomorrow onwards power generation at Norochcholai will be restored and the current shortage of 400 Mega Watts will be fulfilled.
Norochcholai contributes 900 Mega Watts to the National Grid.
Meanwhile, a statement from the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy said that a 7 and half hour power cut will be effective today and tomorrow.
Group1 will experience a power cut from 7AM to 12.30PM and 6PM to 8PM while Group 2 will experience a power cut from 12.30PM to 6PM and 8PM to 10PM.
Meanwhile the committee, appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena to look in to the recent power disruptions met last evening.
In addition to the Subject Minister, Ministers Susil Premajayantha, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Sagala Rathnayaka and Deputy Ministers Ajith P Perera and Eran Wickremerathna are included in the Committee.
Meanwhile, Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that the final report by the Committee will be handed over to the President next Tuesday.
