
Kumar Sangakkara breaks Don Bradman’s 66-year-old record

Veteran Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara struck his 10th double hundred in Galle on Saturday, surpassing the nine amassed by West Indian Brian Lara.
The knock also put him two behind the great Don Bradman. However, the left-hander managed to break the Australian’s 66-year-old record for most scores of 190 plus.
The Sri Lankan captain beat Bradman’s scores of 190 and above, registering his 13th en route to his 10th double.
Sangakkara’s faultless 221 saw Sri Lanka reach 533 for nine in their first innings in reply to Pakistan’s 451 and by stumps the visitors lost a wicket for four runs in their second knock on day four of the first cricket Test at the Galle International Stadium.
Sangakkara had completed his 37th Test hundred Friday.
