Makola women arrested for allegedly trying to sell baby girl

Two women have been arrested by the Sapugaskanda Police on suspection of involvement in the alleged sale of a six-month-old baby girl.
The suspects have been identified as the mother of the baby and another woman from Makola who had allegedly purchased the infant. Preliminary police investigations revealed that the infant was sold by the mother for a sum of Rs.30,000.
Sapugaskanda Police is conducting extensive investigations into the matter and the suspects are due to be produced before the Mahara Magistrate on Friday.
