An unidentified animal in Sinharaja forest


The unidentified animal found at the Sinharaaja forest has been subjected to a genetic analysis.

The Wildlife Ministry said that the animal had been found at a place between Waeddaagala and Pothupitiya.

According to the view of the animal although it has the look of a species like the Palm Civet also known as Uguduva  since it has no tail and possesses purple fur, it has been confirmed that it differs from that species.

Similarly the animal weighs 3 kilos and 300 grams it is about 60 centimetres long.
