Two UN envoys to arrive in the island to enquire into judges and torture

The United Nations organization has announced that two of their special envoys will arrive in the island on 29th of April with the aim of preparing a report.
The media sources stated that the Sri Lankan government has already given their consent to the arrival.
Accordingly, Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers Monica Pinto as well as Special Rapporteur on Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment Juan Mendez will arrive in the island and conduct their inquiries from 29th of April to 7th of May.
They are to produce a special report to the UN Secretary General.
Meanwhile, the 31st session of UN Human rights Council will commence tomorrow.
