The Sri Lanka Bar Association requests that a new post mortem be performed on the body of the youth who died in a clash with police in Ambilipitiya.
Addressing a media conference held in Colombo this morning, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Bar Association said that the post mortem report does not state that a fall from the upper level of a building had occurred.
The Bar Association further stated that due to this reason, another post mortem should be conducted by a different judicial medical officer.
He also questioned about the failure to arrest the remaining policemen who have been accused of being involved in this fatal incident.
The first post mortem was conducted Judicial Medical officer of the Ratnapura Hospital T.B. Gunathilaka and was submitted to Ambilipitiya Magistrate recently.
Accordingly, it was disclosed in court that the cause of death of the youth was excessive bleeding from cuts on the body and grave shock.
