ADB and SL ports authority signs agreement to develop East Container Terminal


The Asian Development Bank and Sri Lanka Ports Authority signed a transaction advisory services agreement to develop the East Container Terminal of Colombo Port through public–private partnership.

The signing was witnessed by Takehiko Nakao, President of ADB, and Sri Lanka’s Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

The 500 million dollar project will include operationalization of the existing 400 meters of deep water berth and the full design, build, finance, operation, and maintenance of the remaining 800 meters of berth.
