Former CJ acquitted in Bribery Commission case


Former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake was released from a case that was filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

She was accused for not declaring assets and liabilities for three years.

Lawyer representing the commission informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court regarding their move to acquit the former CJ from charges made against her.

Thus, Colombo Chief Magistrate Gehan Pilapitiya released the former CJ.
