
Minister Arjuna to the Human Rights Commission against SLC elections

The Port and Shipping Ministry announced this morning that Minister Arjuna Ranatunga will file a petition with the Human Rights Commission this afternoon against the recently concluded SLC election.
Minister Ranatunga contested for the post of vice chairman of the SLC in its recent election.
Jayantha Dharmadasa and K Mathiwaa-dan also contested for the same post and they obtained 102 and 90 votes respectively.
Ranatunga was able to secure only 80 votes.
Earlier, claiming a defamatory issue, Minister Ranatunga sent SLC chairman Thilanga Sumathipala a letter of demand asking for a compensation of 1 billion rupees.
