Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that closing boarders in fear will not help small countries like Sri Lanka to move forward.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Harsha de Silva said that Vietnam brought in close to 15 billion dollars in foreign direct investments alone last year, after opening up and singing the Trans Pacific Partnership.
He said that Sri Lanka barely managed a billion.
The Deputy Minister also added that Vietnam’s opening up can bring more opportunities for Sri Lanka.
