A group of Joint Opposition representatives visit Yoshitha in Welikada Prison

A group of Joint Opposition MPs visited former president’s second son, Yoshitha Rajapaksa who is in remand at Welikada Prison this morning.

Our correspondent stated MPs Dinesh Gunawardana, Wimal Weerawansa, Rohitha Abeygunawardana and Dallas Alahapperuma were among the visitors.

Yesterday, former president Mahinda Rajapaksa paid homage to the sacred tooth relic in Kandy.  At the same time he expressed his views during a gathering of local government representatives.

Five suspects including Yoshitha Rajapaksa were arrested on Saturday for abusing state property and the establishment of CSN television on undeclared financial sources.

The suspects were remanded till February 11 after being produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate.
