A letter from Joint Opposition to Inter Parliament Association

The Joint Opposition has written to the Inter Parliament Association citing that there are attempts to block the activities of the Opposition within parliament. Pivituru Hela Urumaya leader MP Udaya Gammanpila told our news team that the letter has been sent with the signatures of 8 MPs of the Joint Opposition.
In the letter, the MPs stated that the time allocation for the Opposition members to express their views have been limited in parliament.
It also charged that the Opposition representation in parliament committees such as Public Enterprise and State Finance have also been limited for the opposition.
It was stated in his letter to the Inter Parliamentary Association headquarters in Geneva that rules and regulations as well as traditions on appointing the national list of MPs have also been violated.
