Sri Lanka’s Job Market at risk by new Indo – Sri Lanka Agreement

Various views were expressed at a media briefing held with regard to the new Indo- Lanka economic agreement.
At the media briefing organized by the joint opposition, SLFP parliamentarian, Dilum Amunugama noted that this agreement is completely disadvantageous for Sri Lanka and it could affect the local job market. Leader of the National Freedom Front, Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa expressed his views regarding the agreement at the opening ceremony of the party’s new office premises.
Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samrawickrama noted that entering into a trade agreement with a country which exceeds a population of 1.2 billion will be advantageous for Sri Lanka. He added that signing of the agreement will take place in June.
