JVP submits proposal for the new constitution


The JVP has submitted a series of amendments to the Constitutional reforms proposed to parliament by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on January 9th.

Party MP Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa told our news team the proposals were handed over to the Speaker on January 12th.

He further stated that JVP has proposed that a parliament select committee appointed under Standing Orders, should set up the constitutional reforms.

 The SLFP as well as the Joint Opposition have also handed over their proposals to the Speaker.
