Government will not view the bhikku ecclesiastical draft bill as urgent


President Maithreepala Sirisena notes that the Bikkhu ecclesiastical draft bill will not be addressed as an urgent bill by the parliament.

The National Buddhist Intelligence Council met for the first time under the patronage of the president yesterday.

The president stated that the draft bill would be passed amidst the blessings of the Sangha.

The president further noted that the National Buddhist Intelligence Council convened in order to support the building of virtuous governance in the country.
