Technology is evolving so fast, especially phones. Not too long ago, these devices were used for calling and sending messages, now they’re small computers that keep us entertained for hours. David Marcus, Vice President of Messaging Products at Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), believes the way we communicate also needs to evolve.
Marcus wrote on a blog post recently that just like the flip phones are disappearing, old communication styles are disappearing too. Marcus believes Facebook’s Messenger app, which recently reached 800 million users, will be even more popular in the future. The app is easy to use and people don’t need the phone number to contact a person. It also offers users a number of features that other apps don’t have.
Facebook Messenger has grown a lot these last few years and the app now offers more. Messenger was introduced as a platform last year and the move seems to have paid off. Those who use the app can now contact businesses to make purchases and order rides from Uber.
