NZ police escorted SL cricket fans with 'papara' from Eden Park

A group of Sri Lankan fans were escorted from the ground by police and security guards at the New Zealand vs Sri Lanka T20 cricket match at Eden Park yesterday.

The furor erupted early in the first innings of the Black Caps impressive nine-wicket win over the tourists yesterday, when Sri Lankan fans were kicked out allegedly because they banged on drums and sounded trumpets.

Sri Lankan fans who were escorted claim that they've used both drums and flags which were taken off in the crowd, were used in Eden Park before, and had no problem in entering the park with them.

Foreign media reports Twitter and Facebook were flooded with accusations that security guards were acting as the "fun police" and was too hard on fans.
