Subject minister pledges to hold the local government election soon after the delimitation process.

Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faizer Musthapha says that if affairs connected to delimitations can be completed by June, the Provincial council elections will be held before the scheduled time. The minister noted this at a media briefing convened to inform decisions made by the cabinet.
Meanwhile, Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Paatalee Champika Ranawaka stated in a media briefing held yesterday, that in order to resolve certain technical issues, it has been decided that the provincial council elections should be postponed.
