
All 8 supporters of Hirunika are identified at the identification parade

The Colombo District Court granted leave yesterday to hear a Case against Hirunika Premachandra for forcibly occupying a building and land belonging to a resident in the kolonnawa area.
Hirunika Premachandra and her mother Sumana Premachandra have been named as respondents of this case, filed by two residents of Kolonnawa, Rohan Wickrama and Ruwan Wijesekera.
They said the building and land was given to Premachandra on a temporary basis in 2011 and, the complainants informed Court that Hirunika is refusing to return the building and land.
Accordingly, Colombo District Judge Inoka Ranasinghe granted leave to proceed with the case and take if for hearing on March 29th.
Meanwhile Hirunika Premachandras eight supporters who abducted a person from Dematagoda, were identified during the identification parade held at the Chief Magistrate Court today.
Five witnesses were present in Court to identify suspects. Five of the suspects were identified by the 11 year old girl who was with them at the time of the incident.
Later Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohammed Nihai released the suspects on personal bail of one hundred thousand rupees each, after giving them a warning to avoid intimidating the withnesses in any way, or bail would be cazncelled.
Although the defendants’ party requested the release of the Defender Jeep belonging to Hirunika, the Magistrate refused the plea amid objections by the state prosecutor. The case will be taken for hearing again on January 12th.
