Agriculture Minister Request that farmers Do not purchase Subsidised fertiliser at higher prices


The minster of Agricultural Duminda Dissanayake requests that farmers not to buy fertilizer that has been imported under concession.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo this morning, the minister said that reports have been presented to the  ministry, stating that such fertilizer is sold at higher prices.

The minister requested that farmers lodge complaints to the nearest Agrarian Services Center about such traders.

Reports have also stated that certain traders still sell Glyphosate despite it being  banned in the country.

The minister said that stern legal action will be taken against such traders.
