After the elapse of 60 hours the Water Supply Board has taken steps to bring back to normalcy the 36-hour water cut that had been imposed from 9 p.m. on 2nd of this month as a result of a water pipe connected where the new Battaramulla Polduwa bridge is being constructed.
As a result of this people in a number of Kotte and Nugegoda areas were subjected to an unexpected inconvenience.
The Water Supply Board had earlier informed that the suspended water supply could be restored to normalcy by about 9 p.m. on Sunday.
But as a result of the inability to complete the relevant repair within that time, the Water Supply Board had decided extend the suspension up to 12 midnight yesterday.
However it was not possible to bring back the water supply to normalcy within that time.
Therefore a water supply board Deputy General Manger Jerad Fernando told our news team that it had been possible to restore the water supply to normalcy by 5 this dawn.
