Homagama & Mathugama Women Who Sold Themselves For Rs.50, 000 Pretending To Be Cinema Actresses Were Cornered

It was reported the other day of a racket where young women were sold for prostitution to foreigners stating them to be Sri Lankan actresses.
The investigation officials have been able to reveal information about this racket by being familiar with the two persons who were said to be carrying out this racket.
Accordingly the persons carrying out the racket have stated that they have Sri Lankan cinema actresses and they charge about 40,000-50,000 rupees.
They also have stated that one has to book a hotel for them in Wadduwa area. The investigation team who agreed to abide by the said conditions was able to apprehend two women with a Hybrid vehicle without the knowledge of the racketeers.
According to the apprehended women’s statements they have divulged that they are not cinema actresses and they falsely claim so and take money from foreigners.
It is reported that the arrested women were aged 21 and 27and were residents of Mathugama area and Homagama area. It is also reported that they carry out this while boarding in a rest house in Piliyandala area.
It is further reported that they have been remanded until the 28th of December after they were produced to the Panadura courts by the Wadduwa police.
