US State Department Advisor, Thomas Shanon to meet the President and Premier

US State Department Advisor, Thomas Shanon, currently on a two-day official visit to Sri Lanka is scheduled to meet President Maitripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry said that social and economic matters important to the US and Sri Lanka would be discussed during todays meeting.
US State Department Advisor, Thomas Shanon, visited Trincomalee yesterday.
While in Trincomalee, Shannon met with US Central Asia Assistant Secretary Maafik Singh, Opposition Leader R. Sambandan, and Eastern Province Chief Minister Shaafik Nafeer as well as a group of Government officials.
Expressing his views on this occasion US State Department Advisor, Thomas Shanon said that the US hoped to work in cooperation with Sri Lanka always.
