DNA Reports Confirm Identity Of Thajudeen's Remains


Senior Scientist Ruwan J Iayapperuma who is affliated with the Genetech Institute told the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court that the DNA samples obtained from the exhumed body was found to match up with that of former Ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen mother’s DNA reports.

Accordingly the exhumed body has been confirmed as being the remains of the late Wasim Thajudeen.

It was confirmed yesterday by a board of medical officers that the ruggerite had been murdered on May 17th, 2012.

The burnt body was found in a vehicle near the Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita.

The victim had not been driving at the time of the accident, and his body had been transferred to the driver’s seat after being assaulted.
