After a long wait and much talk, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, ‘Tamasha’ releases today. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, there has been much hype surrounding its release, ever since the film was first announced.

Set in Corsica, France, ‘Tamasha’ is a tale about Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (Deepika Padukone) who cross paths on a holiday. Having the time of their lives, the duo explore the world without divulging any real details about themselves. But what happens when they return from their trip, only to get back to reality?

Audiences are eagerly waiting to see the former real-life couple, Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone reunite onscreen, especially after their big commercial success with ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Not only do they share an electrifying chemistry, but from their body language and their easy-going camaraderie with each other, it’s plain that both Ranbir and Deepika have not only grown as actors but as individuals who have come a long way in their professional and personal lives.

They bring that friendship onscreen, creating absolute magic and the very fact that Imtiaz has directed the two Bollywood talents, expectations are nothing short of brilliant.

“Chemistry is not something that me or Deepika bring to the table when you sign us on. It is also the kind of parts that we like individually as actors like in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ we liked each other’s characters. Then we can bring our best to the table and the character and dynamics between us makes the chemistry,” said Ranbir during promotions of ‘Tamasha’.

Director Imtiaz Ali who has worked with Deepika in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ had only praise for the actress, “I think she has grown as a person. She has shed her very inherent shyness while acting. She has been able to overcome that. That is why she looks more confident, she has always been good, but she looks more confident because she has been able to deal with the shyness.”

Imtiaz also explained the title of his directorial, saying, “Tamasha’ has that kind of love which makes a normal person extraordinary, which makes a commoner an artist. This is the kind of love through which you understand why you need a woman in life and how it takes you on a journey through which we identify ourselves.”

While all seems promising, whether ‘Tamasha’ will be able to take on Salman Khan’s blockbuster, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ at the box office, remains to be seen.
