The remains of Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha thero lie in state for public homage from 8 am today

The remains of deceased venerable Maaduluwawe Sobhita Thero brought from Singapore to the island last night are scheduled to be taken from a private funeral parlor in Colombo to the Kotte Sri Naaga Vihaaraya at 8 this morning.
The special Sri lankan Airlines flight UL309 carrying the prelate’s remains from Singapore reached the Katunayake airport at about 9 last night.
Subsequently the remains were taken to a private funeral parlor in Colombo.
Venerable Gurudala Anoma Thero of the Kotte Sri Naaga Vihara said that the public would be able to pay their last respects to the remains of the deceased Venerable Maaduluwawe Sobhita Thero from 8 a.m. today until the 12th.
November 12th has been declared a Day of Mourning for Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera who passed away in Singapore yesterday.
At a meeting held last morning at the Kotte Naga Viharaya it was decided to hold the funeral on November 12th at 3 p.m. at the parliament grounds with full state honors.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasingha also participated in the meeting at the Kotte Naga Viharaya.
