Police in the wee hours of Friday raided local television station 'Sangu TV' over the alleged ISIS video uploaded on YouTube in late August threatening to kill president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Police had stopped the on-air broadcast and taken away computer hard-disks after the three hour long search.
Sangu TV Managing Director Ibrahim 'Asward' Waheed said police had turned the station upside down after ordering to stop all broadcasts.
"They turned the whole office upside down in search of evidence. The office safe has also been broken into and searched. They've taken all the hard drives of all our computer systems. The station has come to a complete standstill," Waheed said.
He said none of the station's employees were capable of doing something the police are accusing them of.
