Avant Guard vessel to be inspected by officials of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into serious fraud

Officials of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry Inquiring into Serious Acts of Fraud and Corruption and Abuse of Power and State Resources and Privileges are scheduled to visit the Avant Guard vessel today.
The Commission Secretary Lasil de Silva said that five officials of his Commission would participate in the inspection.
He said that the objective of the visit was also to carry out a survey of firearms in the vessel.
The Commission Secretary said further that the Avant Garde vessel would be inspected according to the inspections carried out with regard to the Ratnaalankaa Security Company.
Earlier the CID sealed three container boxes containing firearms and ammunitions found in the Avant Guard vessel that had come to the Galle harbour concealing relevant information.
The commission secretary said that accordingly the assistance of the IGP had also been obtained for the relevant inspections.
