Sumo Wrestlers Find Plane Seats a Bit Snug
Thursday, 31 July 2014 - 12:36

Sumo’s Nagoya tournament came to a close on Sunday with yokozuna Hakuho claiming his 30th career championship, going 13-2 and beating Harumafuji on the final day.
But the wrestlers have no time for rest, with many stables heading straight to their training camp in preparation for the next tournament in Tokyo that begins on Sept. 14.
The official Twitter account of the Hakkaku Stable gives a glimpse of what it looks like when dozens of wrestlers travel together on a flight. One tweet observed that the plane was “packed,” which may be something of an understatement. Wrestlers belonging to the stable are at a training camp in Shimane prefecture in western Japan through Monday.
"This is what it looked like inside the flight. Packed." said the stable's tweet.
