It was reported that a teacher had cut off a shirt sleeve and trouser of a year 11 student yesterday at W.Senanayaka prep school. The school teacher who teaches Buddhist philosophy had cut of Nimesh Savich’s uniform stating that it was too tight to the body.

The student’s mother informed to Hiru news that in the process of cutting off the uniform the student hand has been injured and that she had filed a complaint with the Meerigama police in this regard. The mother is working in a garment factory while the student’s father is a mason. Due to financial constraint the student had only a pair of uniforms.

This incident was vehemently deplored by the public and the rest of the staff at the school.
