A Monk Who Molested a Teen in Suriyawewa is Apprehended

A monk who was absconding after raping a thirteen year old girl was apprehended by the police the other day.
The arrested monk is identified as Ketapola Amarakiththi chief incumbent of the Ramamudu wewa temple.The girl was molested three months ago by the monk when she came for an information on a religious matter.
All efforts of termination of the pregnancy has failed .Suriya wewa health official Susantha kariyawasam stated that many such incidents has been reported the health office.
The area residents say many other cases of this nature have been reported of this monk.
On further investigation it was revealed that the accused monk has a court case pending against him at the Balapitiya courts on a similar offence.
The girl has stated that she has been molested several times by the said monk since 2014. The monk has attempted to evade when he was arrested.
The suspected monk is to be produced to the Hambanthota magistrate Isuru Neththikumara. On inspecting the temple where the suspect was staying liquor bottles were found .the monk has been associating high officials and politicians in the area and was rendering assistance to the area residents while tactfully molesting under aged girls.
Further investigation is conducted by Suriyawewa Sub-Inspector Eranda under the guidance of Chief Police Inspector Chrishantha Jayasinghe.
